Catharsis

My name is Bethany Bouchard. I am 22 years old and will soon be graduating from Seton Hill University with a B.A. in Creative Writing. I live in Greensburg, PA. I have done work on the campus newspaper, The Setonian, as both a staff writer and a copy editor and currently have one poem published in the literary magazine, Yawp. I have a cat named Bonnie. I over-think and over-organize. I am easily distracted by stars, flowers, and falling snow. I am a compulsive music downloader and buyer of books. I love old movies and Audrey Hepburn. I can usually be found hiding in a library. This is my first website.

By definition a catharsis is purgation, a purifying or figurative cleansing of the emotions, especially pity and fear, a release of emotional tension, as after an overwhelming experience, that restores or refreshes the spirit. What better way is there to describe the effect the act of writing has on one's soul? That is the reason I title this website of my work Catharsis.

From this page you can view my poetry, my Seton Hill blog, and links to some of my favorite sites and sources.
