Lori Rose Rupert graduated May 12, 2007 with a bachelor of the arts degree. She was an English-Journalism/Creative Writing major, with a minor in Communications. Lori was the photo editor on the
Setonian for two years and a photographer/staff writer for four. View her Setonian profile here. Also check out the articles she wrote for her E-magnify internship.
She has another article which will be featured under entrepreneur's corner on the E-magnify website in June.
As a member of the Setonian staff for four years, I have to say that I have become more knowledgeable in my chosen career field, and I have made wonderful friends with whom I have had some of the craziest times.
(Ask any staff member about production week; Our silliness tends to overtake us and by the end of it, we are all crazy with giggles)
While working for the Setonian is a fun time, it is also a serious one.
Depending on how you chose to particpate, your skills in working with a team will develop as well as your sense of journalistic writing. We use AP style for the articles we publish; If you are asking yourself "What is AP Style," that is okay. The staff members understand that new writers my not be familiar with AP Style.
In order to help you become more familiar with it, for my Media Lab class, I have developed a collaborative website of information. I have included the main points that may confuse first time Setonian writers, along with some other tidbits of information that classmates have written or provided me with. (Classmate recognitions are listed at the end. Again, thank you for your help.)
